Version of 1 November 2026
In short: Pilco has no account and no server. Everything you enter stays on your own phone. Only in the main break of a match does Pilco show one small ad from Google; for it, Google receives data from your phone, such as the advertising ID and the IP address. Personalised ads only if you agree.
Pilco is an app by Savage Software (Sebastiano Bellinzis), [email protected].
What the app keeps, and where
Everything you enter in Pilco stays on your own phone: matches with their clock, score and log, teams and kits, players (name, shirt number, year of birth, preferred positions), periods, marks and notes, and your settings. Names are optional: a shirt number is enough.
What the app does not do
Pilco has no account and no server. What you enter goes to neither us nor anyone else, Google included: no analytics, no tracking. When you tap a link yourself, such as your federation's rules, our website or our e-mail address, your phone opens it in another app.
Ads from Google AdMob
In the break halfway through a match, or between the second and third quarter, Pilco shows one small banner. Never during play, in a time-out or at a festival. It comes from Google AdMob, Google's ad network (Google Ireland Limited in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google LLC elsewhere). To choose and show an ad, the AdMob software in the app sends Google:
- your phone's advertising ID (on Android);
- the IP address, from which Google estimates a rough location, such as the country or city;
- technical data about your phone and the app, such as the model, the operating system and the language;
- how you interact with the ads, for example which you saw and tapped.
Google uses this data to show and measure ads, to avoid showing you the same one again and again, and to prevent fraud and abuse; only if you agree also for ads that match your interests. Google decides how it uses the data under its own rules: see how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy, which also says how long Google keeps it. Google may process it outside the European Union too, including in the United States, with the safeguards described there.
We do not see this data. From Google we receive only totals, such as how many ads were shown and what they earned. Children often stand around the phone, so Pilco asks Google only for ads suitable for everyone. Without internet there is no ad, and Pilco works as usual.
Your choices about ads
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Pilco shows Google's consent form on the home screen, before the first ad. Ads are personalised only if you agree. If you do not, Google shows ads not based on your interests, or none; it may still use data to count ads, limit repetition and fight fraud. You can change your choice at any time under Settings → Ad privacy choices. For personalised ads, and for storing and reading information on your phone where the law requires it, we rely on your consent; for other ads, on our legitimate interest in funding the app with ads.
On iPhone, Pilco does not ask to track you (App Tracking Transparency), so Google does not receive your iPhone's advertising ID. On Android the app uses your phone's advertising ID; you can reset or delete it in your phone's settings, under Privacy → Ads or Google → Ads. In My Ad Center you can see and change how Google personalises ads for you. Pilco works the same whatever you choose.
Tips
Under About, and now and then after a match, you can leave a tip. It unlocks nothing and does not take the ad away. It is an ordinary App Store or Google Play purchase: Apple or Google handles the payment. We receive no name, e-mail address or payment details, only their anonymous sales report. Only when you open the tip jar does the app ask the store for the prices.
Children's data
Player names, years of birth and marks are often about children. You enter them and they stay with you. Handle them with care, do not hand over your phone unlocked, and enter only what you need.
Backups
Your phone's backup (iCloud or Google) may include Pilco's data, under your own account and Apple's or Google's terms.
Deleting
In Pilco: Settings → Delete all data. Or remove the app, and everything goes with it. For what Google received with the ads, see your choices above.
Your rights
You have the right to see, correct and delete your personal data, to object to its use and to withdraw your consent. We receive no data about you from the app, so there is nothing on our side to show, correct or delete: what you enter, you manage in the app. You withdraw consent to personalised ads under Ad privacy choices; for what Google receives with the ads, you can turn to Google, as its policy describes. Questions? Write to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published here, with its date. If the app starts to collect other data or to use it differently, it asks for your consent again where needed.
